THE DETAIL

How to download YouTube Shorts
Downloading a Short with DirectYtDownloader takes seconds. Copy the Shorts URL — it looks like youtube.com/shorts/XXXXXXXXXXX — paste it into the box above and click Get video. Every quality YouTube offers for that Short appears, and you can save it as a vertical MP4 or grab just the audio as MP3.
Why Shorts need a dedicated tool
Shorts are vertical, fast-paced videos, and generic downloaders often treat them like horizontal videos — rotating the file or offering awkward qualities. A Shorts-first tool keeps the portrait format, lists the qualities that actually exist, and lets you grab the audio in the same click.
- Save Shorts you like before they are taken down or made private.
- Grab trending audio as MP3 for offline listening or personal edits.
- Keep tutorials and how-to Shorts to watch without a connection.
- Share a Short as a file with friends who do not use YouTube.
What you cannot download
Private, age-restricted and live Shorts cannot be downloaded — no tool can. Everything else is fair game for personal, non-commercial use. Always respect the creator.
